1/4"

Product Description

1/4 inch GritGreenTru 1/4" grade is primarily used as bedding for small animals and bird litter. 1/4" is made from the woody-ring portion of the cob. Although it is not as absorbent as Pith and Chaff, the big advantage is that liquids quickly flow to the bottom of the cage where they are absorbed, leaving the top of the bedding more dry and comfortable for small animals. When 1/4" is used in industrial applications, it is usually referred to as “Plus 8” and that means the majority of particles are retained on a #8 test sieve.

example Applications

  • Laboratory Animal Bedding
  • Small Pet Bedding

1/8”

Product Description

1/4 inch GritGreenTru 1/8” corncob is also used primarily as small animal bedding and bird litter. Like 1/4", it is made from the woody-ring portion and offers the same bottom-up absorption feature which is important for the well-being of pets and small animals. Both GreenTru 1/4” and 1/8” are great for controlling ammonia odor. When used in industrial applications, 1/8” is described as 814 grade and it can be used as media for high pressure-blasting, tumbling or vibratory finishing.

example Applications

  • Laboratory Animal Bedding
  • Small Pet Bedding

1014

Product Description

1/4 inch GritGreenTru 1014 has the largest particle size of the three most common industrial corncob grades (1014, 1420 & 2040). All three products are used as media for tumbling and vibratory finishing of metal parts and the appropriate size is usually the one where the particles are small enough that they will not lodge in openings and cavities. Used as a pressure blast media, GreenTru 1014 is the most aggressive of the three grades.

example Applications

  • Inert Carrier
  • Tumbling Media
  • Vibratory Finishing Media
  • Paint Surface Preparation
  • Oil and Grease Removal

1020

Product Description

1/4 inch GritGreenTru 1020 corncob is perfect for “carrier” applications where large quantities of corncob particles are needed. In particular, GreenTru 1020 is ideal as a carrier of pesticides and fertilizers in the lawn and garden market because the particles are free-flowing, they spread evenly and then naturally biodegrade.

example Applications

  • Inert Carrier
  • Small Animal Bedding

1420

Product Description

1/4 inch GritGreenTru 1420 has the medium sized particles of the three most common industrial corncob grades (1014, 1420 & 2040). All three products are used as media for tumbling and vibratory finishing of metal parts and the appropriate size is usually the one where the particles are small enough that they will not lodge in openings and cavities. Used as a pressure blast media, GreenTru 1420 is less aggressive than 1014 and more aggressive than 2040.

example Applications

  • Inert Carrier
  • Tumbling Media
  • Vibratory Finishing Media
  • Paint Surface Preparation
  • Oil and Grease Removal

2040

Product Description

1/4 inch GritGreenTru 2040 has the smallest particles of the three most common industrial corncob grades (1014, 1420 & 2040). All three products are used as media for tumbling and vibratory finishing of metal parts and as a pressure blast media. Although it is the smallest of the industrial grades, the GreenTru 2040 particles are, in general, the largest particles used as a “carrier’ of animal health products and feed flavors.

example Applications

  • Inert Carrier
  • Tumbling Media
  • Vibratory Finishing Media
  • Log Home Maintenance
  • Paint Surface Preparation
  • Oil and Grease Removal

4060

Product Description

It is a premium grade corncob product that is used primarily as a “carrier” of animal health products that are mixed with feed and ingested. GreenTru 4060 is also used as a high pressure blast media and in particular for log homes where a very smooth surface profile is desired.

example Applications

  • Inert Carrier
  • Log Home Maintenance

Product Description

1/4 inch GritGreenTru -40 is made from the woody-ring portion of the cob. Minus 40 is used in the manufacture of feeds and often as a “carrier” of animal health products. It is also used as a “carrier” of grain storage pesticides and as a foundry burnout material for castings.

example Applications

  • Inert Carrier
